Through-hole package rework and board-fit
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial leaded package, the part is through-hole mounted, which means it can be hand-soldered or wave-soldered without special equipment. The axial leads are easy to form and insert, and the package is robust enough to survive multiple rework cycles — lift the part, not the pad. No hot-air station needed, just a soldering iron and desoldering wick.
Surge current and clamping performance
With a peak pulse current rating of 130A (10/1000µs waveform) and a clamping voltage of 12.1V at that current, the device limits voltage excursions to a safe level for downstream silicon. The minimum breakdown voltage of 7.79V ensures the TVS triggers before the protected circuit's absolute maximum rating is exceeded.
Rated for junction temperatures from -55°C to 175°C, the 1.5KE8.2CA A0G can be deployed in engine-bay electronics, outdoor telecom cabinets, or industrial control panels where ambient temperatures exceed 85°C. The wide range also provides margin during surge events where junction temperature spikes momentarily.
