The 53 V reverse standoff voltage is the maximum steady-state voltage the device blocks without conducting — a 48 V or 53 V supply bus sits safely below that threshold. When a surge hits, the breakdown triggers at 58.9 V minimum and clamps the transient to 85 V at 18 A peak pulse current. The 1500 W peak pulse rating tells you the energy it can absorb in a 10/1000 µs waveform before the junction gives up.

The DO-201AA axial package is a through-hole form factor — the leads go through the board and are soldered on the opposite side. It mates with standard 0.040-inch diameter holes and a 0.100-inch lead spacing.
