Surge rating and protection window
The 1.5KE56A B0G: The 47.8V reverse standoff voltage means it stays out of conduction during normal operation, while the 53.2V minimum breakdown voltage defines where clamping begins.
Package and board-fit for repair
Housed in a DO-201AA / DO-27 axial leaded package (supplier device package DO-201), this is a through-hole part. On the repair bench, that means you can extract the failed part and re-stuff the same holes without a board spin — the scorch mark tells you which one actually died. The 1.5KE series uses a standard lead spacing that matches most existing TVS footprints on 48V telecom and industrial boards.
The wide temperature grade also means derating for high ambient is less aggressive than on a commercial-grade 85°C part — the 1500W peak pulse rating holds closer to its full value at elevated temperatures.
