The 70.1V clamping ceiling ensures the downstream components see a peak voltage well below typical 60V or 75V MOSFET breakdown thresholds. The 22A peak pulse current rating at the 10/1000µs waveform gives the designer a direct input for the surge energy calculation: 1500W peak at 70.1V clamping. The bidirectional configuration (single channel) protects both polarities with one device, saving board space and reducing part count on AC-coupled or bipolar rails.
