Transient suppression for 376 V rails
The 1.5KE440CA A0G: The bidirectional configuration (single channel) makes it suitable for AC or floating DC lines where polarity is not fixed — no need to orient the part on the board.
Breakdown and clamping window
Minimum breakdown voltage is 418 V, with a typical standoff (reverse standoff) of 376 V — the device starts conducting significantly above 376 V and clamps hard at 602 V maximum. The 2.5 A peak pulse current at 10/1000 µs defines the surge the part can handle without failing; for shorter pulses the peak current capability is higher. The part is rated for continuous operation in high-ambient environments like power supplies, motor drives, or telecom rectifiers where internal temperatures exceed 85°C.
Through-hole package and board integration
Supplied in a DO-201AA / DO-27 axial leaded package (through-hole), the 1.5KE440CA A0G mounts into a 1.0 mm diameter hole on a standard PCB. The axial body is rated for wave-solder assembly and handles the thermal cycling of high-reliability power circuits better than surface-mount alternatives in the same power class. Packaged in Tape & Box (TB) — suitable for hand insertion or selective soldering in low-to-medium volume production. No power line protection feature (the part is a pure transient suppressor, not a filter).
