Transient protection for 342V DC rails
The 1.5KE400A B0G: Its 380V minimum breakdown voltage and 548V maximum clamping point define the protection window — the rail must stay below 342V during normal operation, and any spike that drives it above 380V triggers the avalanche, shunting the surge to ground until the voltage is clamped at 548V. The 175°C maximum junction temperature gives thermal headroom for repetitive events in hot environments like industrial control cabinets or power supply outputs.
DO-201 axial — bench-friendly rework
Housed in a DO-201AA / DO-27 axial through-hole package (supplier device package DO-201), this diode is built for a rework station. The large body and thick leads transfer heat cleanly — a soldering iron or hot-air pencil lifts the part without lifting the pad, and the polarity band is clearly marked on the body. No fine-pitch alignment, no hidden solder joints; it reflows back into the board in seconds. The through-hole form factor also means the part stands off the board, allowing airflow around the body for convective cooling. In a high-surge application, that thermal path from the junction through the leads and into the PCB copper is the primary heat sink — the axial package delivers it without a thermal pad or exposed paddle.
