This is a single-channel bidirectional device, so it protects both polarities of a signal or supply line with one component — useful on AC-coupled data lines or floating DC rails where the return path isn't at chassis ground.
Clamping voltage and peak current
At the 274V clamping point, the diode conducts 5.7A of peak pulse current (Ipp) for the standard 10/1000µs surge. That 5.7A figure is the current at which the clamp voltage is guaranteed — design the upstream trace width and fuse rating to handle at least this much surge current without opening. Power line protection is not supported (the device lacks the low dynamic resistance needed for sustained AC mains clamping), so keep this on DC rails and signal lines.

Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, the 1.5KE200CA R0G is a through-hole part. The axial leads need a 1.1mm diameter hole on a 0.4-inch lead spacing — standard for this package. Tape & Reel packaging means it ships on a reel for automated insertion, but the part is equally hand-solderable for bench repairs.
