The 1.5KE150CA R0G: Breakdown starts at 143 V minimum, and clamping is guaranteed at 207 V maximum when the peak pulse current hits 7.6 A. That 79 V window between standoff and clamp gives the downstream circuitry a defined protection threshold — a 200 V-rated MOSFET or a 250 V-rated capacitor sees a hard ceiling before its own breakdown. No power line protection feature is built in; this is a standalone transient suppressor, not a filtered or coordinated protector.
Thermal and mechanical fit
The DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead through-hole package is the standard footprint for 1.5 kW-class TVS diodes. Junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, covering industrial enclosures and under-hood automotive compartments without derating at the hot end. The axial leads solder into a plated through-hole board; the body stands off the PCB, so convection cooling around the epoxy case is the primary heat path during a pulse.
