The 1.5KE12A B0G: With a peak pulse power rating of 1500 W (10/1000 µs waveform) and a clamping voltage of 16.7 V at 94 A peak pulse current, it protects downstream silicon from surges that exceed the rail's normal operating envelope. The breakdown voltage range starts at 11.4 V minimum, ensuring the device remains non-conductive below the rail voltage and triggers only when a transient pushes the line above that threshold.

Through-hole DO-201 axial — board-fit note

Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, the part is supplied in bulk and mounts through-hole. The DO-201 footprint is common across the 1.5KE family, so a single PCB layout accepts the full voltage range from 6.8 V to 440 V standoff variants. The axial leads carry the surge current into the copper pad area — keep the trace width to the pad at least equivalent to the lead diameter to avoid a fuse effect under peak pulse.
