Breakdown, clamp, and pulse current — the protection envelope
The 1.5KE11CAH: At the 100A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform), the clamping voltage is 15.6V max. The 1500W peak pulse rating defines the energy-handling capability at the 10/1000µs waveform. For shorter pulses (8/20µs), the peak power is higher; for longer events, derate accordingly. The DO-201AA axial package has a low thermal resistance to the leads — the copper trace area on the PCB determines how much steady-state heat the part can sink during repetitive surges.
Active production, automotive-grade traceability
The AEC-Q101 qualification provides lot traceability and reliability data (temperature cycle, HTRB, H3TRB) per the automotive PPAP framework.
