The 1.5KE11AH: Reverse standoff voltage is 9.4 V typ — the TVS draws negligible leakage below this level, so it sits across a 12 V battery bus without loading it. Breakdown starts at 10.5 V min, and clamping is guaranteed at 15.6 V max with the full 100 A pulse applied. The 5 V gap between standoff and clamp gives the TVS room to absorb energy before the protected circuit sees damaging voltage. At the high end, leakage current rises but the clamping voltage stays within spec — the 175°C limit is the silicon junction rating, not a derating point for the package leads.

Package is DO-201AA (DO-27 axial) with tin-plated copper leads. The through-hole body handles the 1500 W pulse without the thermal constraints of a surface-mount footprint — the lead-to-board solder joint is the thermal bottleneck, not the die attach.
