The 1.5KE10CA R0G: It clamps at 14.5V maximum when the surge current hits 108A, protecting a nominal 8.55V reverse-standoff rail — think 12V battery lines, 9V regulated supplies, or any DC bus that sees load-dump or inductive kickback transients.
What the ratings mean for the bench
The 9.5V minimum breakdown voltage is where the device starts conducting — below that it's essentially an open circuit. The 8.55V reverse standoff is the maximum steady-state voltage the diode can sit across without leaking appreciably; a 12V automotive rail needs a higher standoff part, but a 9V rail or a 5V rail with a margin buffer is a clean fit. The 108A peak pulse current is the surge the diode can handle once — it's the Ipp at the 10/1000µs test waveform. If the rail is 3.3V logic, this clamp is too high — you'd step down to a lower-voltage TVS. The single bidirectional channel means the diode clamps equally on positive and negative transients — useful on AC signal lines or DC rails that can reverse-polarity. The DO-201AA axial package is a through-hole leaded form; it's hand-solderable and visible on a board, which makes it a favourite in repair work where you can see the scorch mark and swap it without a hot-air station.
