1500W bidirectional TVS, DO-201 package
The 1.5KE10CA B0G is a 1500 W bidirectional TVS diode from the 1.5KE series, designed to clamp transients on general-purpose power and signal lines. Its 8.55 V reverse standoff means the protected rail can sit at 8.55 V with negligible leakage under normal operation; only when a surge drives the voltage above the 9.5 V minimum breakdown does the device begin to conduct, clamping at 14.5 V maximum while shunting 108 A of peak pulse current (10/1000 µs waveform). The 1500 W rating is the peak pulse power the device can absorb for a standard 10/1000 µs surge without failing — this sets the energy-handling ceiling for a given clamp voltage. On a 12 V automotive or industrial rail, the 8.55 V standoff provides enough margin above the nominal bus voltage to avoid false triggering during normal ripple, while the 14.5 V clamp stays within the typical 20 V absolute-maximum rating of downstream 12 V-rated ICs. The single bidirectional channel protects a pair of signal or power lines symmetrically — useful for AC-coupled data lines, differential pairs, or floating supplies where the transient polarity is unknown. The DO-201AA axial-lead package is a through-hole form factor suited to point-to-point wiring on terminal blocks, bus bars, or overvoltage-protection daughter boards where surface-mount soldering is not preferred.
The junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, covering the industrial and extended temperature bands. At the high end, the leakage current increases but the 1500 W peak pulse capability is derated linearly above 25°C per the standard TVS derating curve — at 175°C the device can still absorb roughly 20% of the room-temperature rating, enough for most fault-clearing events in a hot enclosure.
