The VN5E050MJ-E is a single-channel high-side N-channel power switch from STMicroelectronics' VIPower™ series. Its 50 mOhm maximum on-resistance sets the voltage drop and self-heating at a given load current — at 10 A the drop is roughly 0.5 V, which matters for the load's minimum operating voltage and the PCB copper area needed to keep the junction below 150°C.

The load supply range covers nominal 12 V and 24 V systems used in automotive body electronics, industrial PLC outputs, and general-purpose switched loads. No separate Vcc supply is required — the switch is self-powered from the load pin.
