What this comparator brings to an automotive board
The STMicroelectronics TS3011IYLT is a single general-purpose comparator qualified to AEC-Q100. It runs on a single or dual supply from 2.2 V to 5 V. The push-pull, rail-to-rail output stage drives logic inputs directly. Internal 2 mV hysteresis cleans up the switching threshold. Maximum quiescent current is 1.1 mA.
ROHS3 compliant.
The 2 mV of internal hysteresis is baked in, not added externally. On a noisy automotive rail or a sensor output with ripple, that hysteresis prevents the comparator from chattering at the threshold. If you have ever watched a comparator output toggle at hundreds of kHz on a scope because the input signal sat right at the reference, you know why this matters — it saves you from adding positive feedback resistors and keeps the output clean.
