900 V N-channel in an IPAK — the switching load you can fit in tight spaces
It comes in a through-hole IPAK (TO-251) package — a three-lead footprint that saves board area compared to a full TO-220 while still handling 110 W of dissipation at the case.
On-resistance and drive voltage — where the conduction loss lands
The specified drive voltage range is 10 V for both the max and min Rds(on) conditions, meaning this part is optimised for a standard 10 V gate drive rail — not a 5 V logic-level gate. Gate threshold voltage is 5 V maximum at 100 µA drain current, so the device is fully enhanced only when the gate-source voltage exceeds that threshold by several volts.
The IPAK (TO-251) package has three leads on a 2.54 mm pitch, with the centre tab as the drain. It is a through-hole part, so it stands off the board and can be heatsunk via the tab to the PCB copper or an external clip. The package case code is TO-251-3 Long Leads, IPak, TO-251AB — the long-lead variant gives extra stand-off height for cleaning under the part.
