SiC Schottky in a DPAK — 650 V, 10 A, zero trr
The STPSC10H065BY-TR is a 650 V, 10 A Silicon Carbide Schottky diode from STMicroelectronics, housed in a surface-mount DPAK (TO-252-3) package. It delivers zero reverse recovery time — the defining advantage of SiC over ultrafast silicon diodes — which eliminates the switching loss tail in hard-switched converters.
What zero trr means for your switching loop
With a rated reverse recovery time of 0 ns, this diode does not store minority carriers. In a boost PFC or flyback clamp leg, that removes the reverse-recovery current spike that forces a silicon diode into a snubber or a slower turn-on edge. The junction capacitance at 0 V is 480 pF, which sets the Coss-related switching loss; at the 650 V operating rail the capacitance drops to a fraction of that value.
