The STPS6045CP is a dual Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, configured as a pair of common-cathode diodes in a single through-hole TO-218-3 (also known as SOT-93) package. The fast-recovery characteristic (≤500 ns, >200 mA) suits it for high-frequency output rectification in switch-mode power supplies, as well as OR-ing diodes in redundant power architectures and freewheeling diodes in motor-drive circuits.

The 45 V reverse voltage (Vr max) sets the bus voltage ceiling — this part is sized for 24 V or 36 V rails with margin, not 48 V telecom buses. The 30 A per-diode average current is the thermal design target; in a common-cathode pair, the total package dissipation is the sum of both diodes, so the heatsink must handle up to 60 A total if both channels are loaded. The 630 mV forward drop at 30 A is typical for a 45 V Schottky at this current density — expect higher Vf at elevated junction temperature, which drives the conduction loss calculation. The 175°C junction rating allows operation in high-ambient enclosures without derating the current as aggressively as a 150°C part would require.
