The STPS5045SG-TR is a 45 V, 50 A Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics in a D²PAK (TO-263) surface-mount package. It is built for high-current OR-ing, reverse-polarity protection, and output rectification in switch-mode power supplies where the low forward drop keeps conduction losses manageable. The 200 °C maximum junction temperature gives thermal headroom, but the reverse leakage at 45 V (360 µA at 25 °C) climbs exponentially with temperature; at 125 °C junction it can reach tens of milliamps, so the standby loss budget needs that curve from the datasheet.
The D²PAK (TO-263-3) has a large exposed tab that is electrically common with the cathode. Surface-mount assembly with the D²PAK follows standard reflow profiles for the solder paste on the tab. The package is compatible with both cut-tape and tape-and-reel handling, so it fits automated pick-and-place without special tooling.
ROHS3 compliance is confirmed, which covers the current exemption list for lead-free soldering processes.
