80 V, 20 A dual Schottky in a fully isolated TO-220
The TO-220FPAB full-pack package provides full isolation from the heatsink — no insulating pad needed, which simplifies assembly and improves thermal transfer to the case.
Conduction loss and thermal budget at 20 A
At 20 A forward current the 800 mV drop produces 16 W per diode. With a junction temperature ceiling of 175 °C, the TO-220FPAB package requires a heatsink sized for the total dissipation — 32 W when both diodes conduct simultaneously. The 50 µA reverse leakage at 80 V is a bench-level sanity check; leakage rises exponentially with junction temperature, so a warm rectifier draws significantly more idle current than the 25 °C spec suggests.
Procurement must source through independent distribution or the surplus market. For new designs, a functionally equivalent dual Schottky in the same TO-220FPAB footprint should be qualified — the 80 V / 20 A rating and common-cathode configuration are the primary selection criteria.
