ST lists this part as Obsolete. That means new-design starts should look at current Schottky pairs in the same package and voltage class.
The 60 V reverse voltage gives you about 20 % derating on a 48 V bus — comfortable for most 48 V telecom or 24 V industrial rails, but tight if you need margin on a 48 V nominal with transients. The 595 mV forward drop at 20 A is typical for a 60 V Schottky at this current density — expect it to rise with junction temperature. The 110 µA reverse leakage at 60 V is a reminder that Schottkys trade higher leakage for lower Vf; at elevated junction temperatures (max 150 °C,) leakage climbs significantly, so thermal design matters in high-ambient or enclosed environments.
Package and mounting note
The D²Pak (TO-263-3) is a surface-mount power package with a large metal tab for heat sinking. It is the same footprint as D²Pak variants, so any current-production 60 V Schottky pair in D²Pak should land on the same PCB pads. The tab is common cathode — keep that in mind for the copper pour and thermal vias. No lab bench needed for a swap, but the tab needs a good solder joint to the board copper; a hot-air station or reflow oven is the right tool, not a hand iron.
