A common-cathode pair means the two Schottky diodes share the same cathode terminal, making this part a direct fit for center-tapped full-wave rectifiers or dual-diode OR-ing circuits where the cathodes tie together. Each diode handles 15 A independently, so the total package current in a common-cathode configuration is 30 A, but the 150°C maximum junction temperature and 80 µA reverse leakage at 60 V set the thermal and off-state boundaries.
Through-hole TO-262 package — thermal and layout notes
The STPS30M60CR comes in a TO-262-3 (I2PAK) through-hole package with long leads. This package is designed for heatsink mounting — the metal tab is the common cathode connection and carries most of the heat. A proper thermal interface to a heatsink is recommended when running near the 15 A per diode rating, as the junction-to-case thermal path is the limiting factor.
