100 V, 30 A Schottky — the fast-recovery edge
The STPS30M100SR is a 100 V, 30 A Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, rated for fast recovery ≤500 ns at >200 mA.
With a 100 V reverse rating and 30 A average forward current, this part sits in the output rectification of a 48–60 V bus converter, an OR-ing diode in a redundant supply, or a freewheeling clamp in a motor-drive bus. The 800 mV forward drop at 30 A is typical for a 100 V Schottky — expect about 24 W conduction loss at full load, so the I2PAK tab needs a heatsink or forced air. The 175 µA reverse leakage at 100 V doubles roughly every 10 °C above 25 °C junction; at 125 °C junction the leakage can exceed 10 mA, which matters if the diode sits across a high-impedance sense node.
STMicroelectronics lists the STPS30M100SR as obsolete. If the design is still in prototype, the smarter move is to qualify a pin-compatible 100 V, 30 A Schottky in the same I2PAK footprint before the build ramps.
