The STPS30L45CFP is a dual Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, pairing two 15 A diodes in a common-cathode configuration inside a single TO-220FP full-pack package.
Conduction loss and thermal budget
At 15 A per diode, the 550 mV Vf sets a conduction loss of about 8.25 W per diode. In a common-cathode pair, both diodes share the same cathode tab, so the total heat dissipated through the TO-220FP backplate is the sum of both channels.
Reverse leakage and blocking voltage
Maximum reverse leakage is 400 µA at 45 V. Schottky leakage rises exponentially with junction temperature, so at high ambient or heavy load the leakage contribution to the thermal budget becomes non-negligible. The 45 V blocking rating is the absolute maximum — derate for reliable operation in a 24 V or 36 V rail, but do not push it above 40 V continuous if you want margin against transients.
Switching speed and application fit
Listed as a fast recovery diode with recovery time ≤ 500 ns at > 200 mA. For a Schottky, this is a conservative classification — the majority carrier structure inherently switches faster than a PN junction.
Through-hole TO-220-3 Full Pack (TO-220FP). The three leads are the two anodes and the common cathode tab. The full-pack body is fully molded — no exposed metal — so the mounting screw does not require an insulating bushing.
ROHS3 compliant.
