Schottky pair for high-current rectification
The STPS30150CW is a dual Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, configured as a common-cathode pair in a single TO-247-3 through-hole package. The fast-recovery characteristic (≤ 500 ns, > 200 mA) suits it for switching power supplies and freewheeling diode applications where reverse-recovery losses matter.
Ratings that set the thermal and load budget
At 150 V reverse and 15 A per diode, the STPS30150CW covers 48 V and 72 V bus rails with margin. The 920 mV forward drop at 15 A sets the conduction loss floor — at full load each die dissipates roughly 13.8 W, so the TO-247-3 package's junction-to-case thermal path must be sized with a heatsink for continuous operation. Reverse leakage is 6.5 µA at 150 V, but Schottky leakage rises exponentially with junction temperature. The 175 °C maximum junction rating gives headroom.
