The STPS30150CT is a dual common-cathode Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, rated 15 A average rectified current per diode at 150 V DC reverse voltage.
Reverse leakage and thermal margin
Reverse leakage is 6.5 µA at 150 V — low enough that self-heating from leakage is negligible at rated voltage, but it doubles with every 10°C rise in junction temperature. In a high-ambient or poorly-ventilated enclosure, the leakage current can climb enough to shift the thermal equilibrium, so the heatsink design should target a junction temperature well below the 175°C absolute maximum.
Through-hole TO-220 — hand-solderable and rework-friendly
The TO-220-3 through-hole package (supplier device package TO-220) is a breadboard-friendly footprint — the three leads are 0.100-inch pitch, easy to solder by hand, and the metal tab can be bolted to a heatsink or chassis. No special reflow profile needed; a standard soldering iron and a bit of flux get the job done. The tube packaging means the parts arrive aligned and undamaged, ready for manual assembly or pick-and-place with a tube feeder.
