30 V, 2 A Schottky — low Vf for low-voltage rectification
The STPS2L30AFN is a 30 V, 2 A Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, built for low forward voltage drop and fast switching. It carries a typical forward voltage of 450 mV at 2 A, which keeps conduction losses down in 5 V and 3.3 V rail rectification or freewheeling paths.
450 mV forward drop — the efficiency lever
At 2 A forward current the Vf max is 450 mV — about 0.9 W dissipation at full load. That low drop matters most in low-output-voltage converters where every 100 mV of diode loss cuts efficiency by a couple of points. Reverse leakage is 200 µA at 30 V, typical for a 30 V Schottky at this current rating.
DO-221AC SMA Flat Leads — hand-solderable SMD
The SMA Flat Leads package (DO-221AC) is a surface-mount body with flat, exposed leads that sit flush on the pad. That geometry makes it easier to hand-solder than a standard SMA gull-wing — good for rework or small-batch assembly. The junction temperature ceiling is 150 °C, so keep the copper pad area generous under the cathode tab to pull heat away.
