Dual Schottky in D2PAK — what the ratings mean
The forward voltage drop is 530 mV maximum at the full 12.5 A forward current — a typical figure for a 30 V Schottky in this current class, which keeps conduction losses manageable in a 12 V bus or OR-ing application. Reverse leakage is 1 mA at the rated 30 V blocking voltage, which is expected for a Schottky at elevated junction temperature. The D2PAK (TO-263) surface-mount package with the tab tied to the common cathode is the standard footprint for medium-power rectification. The junction is rated for a maximum operating temperature of 150 °C, which allows the part to run hot in a confined power supply or motor-drive environment as long as the PCB copper area and airflow keep the junction below that ceiling.
Application fit and design-in note
The 30 V blocking voltage gives enough headroom for a 12 V rail with transients, but it is not suitable for 24 V systems or higher-voltage buses.
