Obsolete — sourcing the STPS20M60SR now
ST has marked the STPS20M60SR as obsolete. The I2PAK (TO-262) through-hole package and 20 A / 60 V Schottky die are the key identifiers when cross-shopping against remaining stock or a replacement. Because the lifecycle status is obsolete, the sourcing posture is last-time-buy / surplus. No LTB window remains — the only channel is the broker and surplus market.
Forward voltage is 565 mV at the full 20 A rating. That is a low drop for a 20 A Schottky, which keeps conduction losses manageable in a high-current output rectifier or OR-ing diode. The fast recovery spec (≤ 500 ns, > 200 mA) is typical for a Schottky — the majority-carrier structure inherently recovers fast, so the number is more of a classification flag than a design constraint. Reverse leakage at 60 V is 125 µA. This is a Schottky trade-off: low Vf comes with higher leakage than a fast-recovery epitaxial diode. At elevated junction temperature the leakage multiplies, so factor that into your standby-loss budget if the diode sees sustained reverse bias at high ambient.
Package and mounting — TO-262 I2PAK
The STPS20M60SR comes in a TO-262-3 long-lead I2PAK (TO-262AA) through-hole package. The three leads and the metal tab are soldered into the PCB; the tab is the cathode and carries the bulk of the thermal path. For 20 A continuous, the PCB copper area and any added heatsink determine the junction temperature — the 150°C max junction is the ceiling, not a running target.
