Schottky pair for 45 V rails — what the ratings mean
The STPS20L45CT is a dual Schottky rectifier in a common-cathode configuration, rated for 45 V reverse voltage and 10 A average forward current per diode. The 550 mV forward drop at 10 A sets the conduction loss floor — at full load each diode dissipates roughly 5.5 W, so the TO-220 package's junction-to-case thermal path must be kept below 150 °C junction maximum.
STMicroelectronics lists the STPS20L45CT as obsolete.
Through-hole TO-220-3 package, supplied in tube. The common-cathode pinout simplifies PCB layout for center-tapped full-wave rectifiers and OR-ing diode arrays — the two anodes are separate, the cathode tab is shared. The metal tab carries the cathode potential and must be electrically isolated or connected to the common cathode rail.
