The STPS2060CT is a dual Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, configured as a common-cathode pair in a through-hole TO-220 package. The fast-recovery characteristic (≤ 500 ns, > 200 mA) suits it for switching power supplies and freewheeling circuits where Schottky's low forward drop and fast switching reduce losses.
60 V, 10 A per leg — the numbers that matter
The 60 V reverse voltage is the blocking voltage each diode can hold off; in a 48 V bus or 24 V supply with margin, this is fine — but a 48 V rail with 20 % overshoot pushes close to the limit. The 10 A per diode is the average rectified current; with the common-cathode pair you can parallel the two diodes for a 20 A total through the TO-220, or use them as independent rectifiers sharing the same cathode pin. Forward voltage of 800 mV at 10 A is typical for a 60 V Schottky of this die size — expect it to rise with junction temperature, so heatsink planning matters. Reverse leakage is 150 µA at 60 V, which climbs with temperature; at 125 °C junction it can be several milliamps, a factor in standby-power designs.
STMicroelectronics lists the STPS2060CT as Obsolete. Sourcing now runs through independent distribution and surplus inventory. If you have an existing BOM line using this part, the immediate question is whether you can qualify a pin-compatible drop-in. The STPS2060CT uses the standard TO-220 footprint with a common-cathode pair — several active Schottky diodes in the same package and voltage/current class exist, but each needs a thermal and electrical validation against your specific switching frequency and load profile. For a production run, the safest path is to quote the obsolete part against available surplus stock while simultaneously qualifying a replacement.
