Dual Schottky in a common-cathode TO-262AA
The STPS20170CR from STMicroelectronics is a dual Schottky rectifier with a 1 Pair Common Cathode configuration in a through-hole TO-262AA (I2PAK) package. Each diode is rated for a maximum DC reverse voltage of 170 V and an average rectified current of 10 A per diode. The forward voltage drop is specified at 900 mV maximum at 10 A, and the device is classified as Fast Recovery with a recovery time ≤ 500 ns at > 200 mA.
170 V blocking, 10 A per leg — where it fits
With a 170 V reverse voltage and 10 A average current per diode, this common-cathode pair is sized for output rectification in 48 V to 100 V DC-DC converters, freewheeling diodes in motor drives, and OR-ing diodes in redundant power supplies. The 900 mV forward drop at full rated current is typical for a 170 V Schottky — expect higher conduction loss than a lower-voltage Schottky but necessary for the voltage headroom. The junction temperature rating of 175°C maximum gives thermal margin in high-ambient or forced-air designs.
STMicroelectronics lists the STPS20170CR as Obsolete. Buyers should qualify a replacement for new designs or bridge supply through the surplus channel for legacy production.
