170 V, 10 A dual Schottky in D2PAK
It is housed in a surface-mount D2PAK (TO-263-3) package with a max junction temperature of 175 °C. The fast recovery time (≤500 ns) and low forward drop (900 mV at 10 A) suit it for high-frequency switching power supplies, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection in telecom and industrial DC-DC converters.
The 170 V reverse voltage rating provides margin for 48 V and 72 V bus rails, and covers the reflected voltage in flyback converters with up to 100 V input. The 10 A per diode average current handles output rectification in the 100–200 W range. The 900 mV forward drop at 10 A is typical for a 170 V Schottky — expect higher conduction loss than a lower-voltage part, but the fast recovery (≤500 ns) keeps switching losses low in continuous-conduction-mode designs. The 15 µA reverse leakage at 170 V is a room-temperature spec; at 125 °C junction it will rise significantly, so thermal derating of the forward current is necessary above 100 °C.
The D2PAK (TO-263-3) surface-mount package has a large exposed tab for thermal dissipation. The common-cathode pair shares the tab as the cathode connection, so the tab is not electrically neutral — the PCB copper plane must be either isolated or connected to the cathode rail. The 2-lead-plus-tab footprint is standard for D2PAK; the tab is the primary heat path, so a via array under the tab is recommended for thermal transfer to inner layers.
