What this dual Schottky does on the board
The STPS15M80CR is a dual Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, housing a pair of common-cathode diodes in a single TO-262 I2PAK through-hole package.
Forward voltage and the thermal budget
At 7.5 A per diode the forward voltage maxes out at 725 mV. That figure directly drives the conduction loss: 7.5 A × 0.725 V = roughly 5.4 W per diode at full tilt. In a common-cathode pair running both legs, you're looking at nearly 11 W total dissipation. The I2PAK's tab is the primary heat path — a proper heatsink or chassis mount is non-negotiable if you plan to push both channels. The 175°C junction ceiling buys you margin, but the thermal resistance of the package will be the real limiter in a real assembly.
Reverse leakage at temperature
Reverse leakage is specified at 25 µA at 80 V. Schottky leakage climbs with junction temperature.
STMicroelectronics lists the STPS15M80CR as obsolete. No new factory production is available. For a production BOM, this part should be treated as a last-time-buy candidate — secure whatever quantity covers your remaining builds, then qualify a replacement.
