Dual Schottky in a D2PAK — what you are working with
The STPS1545CG is a dual Schottky rectifier from STMicroelectronics, configured as a pair of common-cathode diodes in a single D2PAK (TO-263) surface-mount package.
STMicroelectronics lists the STPS1545CG as obsolete. Sourcing this part today means going through the independent surplus and broker channel, where availability depends on what is left in inventory from past production runs.
The 45 V reverse voltage rating sets the maximum DC bus voltage this diode can block — suitable for 24 V and 36 V rails with margin, but not for 48 V telecom supplies. Reverse leakage is specified at 100 µA at 45 V, which matters for standby power budgets in battery-powered or always-on equipment.
The D2PAK (TO-263-3) package has two leads plus the tab, which is the cathode common terminal. The exposed metal tab must be soldered to the PCB copper pour for thermal management — without a good thermal connection, the junction temperature rises quickly above the 175°C limit under sustained load. The part ships in Tube form, not tape-and-reel, so plan for manual or tube-fed placement if you are setting up a production line.
