Schottky pair for OR-ing and output rectification

What the 530 mV forward voltage means for your thermal budget
At 5 A per diode, 530 mV forward drop produces about 2.65 W of conduction loss per diode. In a common-cathode pair carrying 5 A total, the loss splits across the two junctions. If the board runs hot or airflow is limited, a lower-Vf Schottky in a larger package may be needed.
