Gate charge is 136 nC at 5 V, so the driver needs to source about 1.4 A peak to switch at 100 kHz; plan a gate resistor to manage ringing.
ST officially lists the STP80NF55L-06 as Obsolete. That means no further production runs, no last-time-buy window — the only channel left is independent distribution sourcing surplus or new-old-stock inventory. If this part is on a current BOM, qualify a replacement before stock runs dry. The TO-220 footprint is standard, so a pin-compatible N-channel MOSFET with similar Rds(on) and gate charge from ST's current STripFET F7 or other vendors' 55 V / 80 A families should drop in with minimal layout change.
The 175°C max gives headroom for derating under continuous high-current operation.
