80 MHz Cortex-M4 with FPU — real-time headroom without a co-processor
The STM32L476VGT6 runs an ARM Cortex-M4 core with single-precision FPU at 80 MHz. That clock rate, combined with the DSP instruction set, lets it handle sensor fusion, motor-control FOC, or audio processing loops in software — no external DSP needed. On-chip memory is 1 MB flash and 128 KB SRAM. The flash is sized for a full application stack plus a bootloader and over-the-air update buffer; the SRAM holds multiple 16-bit ADC scan buffers without overflow.
Connectivity mix for fieldbus, display, and storage
The peripheral set includes CAN, USB OTG (FS/LS), QSPI for external NOR flash, SAI for I²S audio, and an MMC/SD host controller. A single part can bridge a CAN fieldbus, log data to an SD card, and drive a segmented LCD — the on-chip LCD driver handles up to 8×40 segments. 82 GPIOs in the 100-LQFP package give enough headroom for a parallel display bus (EBI/EMI), a keypad matrix, and several serial peripherals without pin-sharing conflicts.
