The base product number STM32L072 covers a range of package and memory options, so if you later need a different Flash size or a QFP package, the migration stays within the same family.
The STM32L072RZT6 is a pin-compatible LQFP-64 variant of the same STM32L072 die. The core, memory, and peripherals are identical — the difference is the package. The RZT6 uses a 64-pin LQFP (10x10 mm) with 0.5 mm pitch, which is easier to hand-solder and rework than the 64-TFBGA. If your board layout can accommodate the larger footprint, the RZT6 is a drop-in functional replacement.
