ARM Cortex-M0+ core at 32 MHz with 16 KB Flash
The STM32L011K4T6 is a 32-bit single-core microcontroller built around the ARM Cortex-M0+ processor, running at up to 32 MHz. This core delivers the energy efficiency of the Cortex-M0 architecture with a two-stage pipeline and a reduced instruction set, making it suitable for low-power sensing and control applications where throughput above 32 MHz is not required. On-chip program memory is 16 KB of Flash (16K x 8), paired with 2 KB of SRAM (2K x 8) and 512 bytes of EEPROM (512 x 8). The EEPROM allows parameter storage without external non-volatile memory, and the Flash is sufficient for small-footprint firmware in battery-operated or space-constrained designs.
Supply range and temperature grade for industrial deployment
The wide range eliminates the need for an external LDO when the battery voltage drops during discharge. The temperature grade is standard for commercial and light industrial use, not automotive (AEC-Q100) or extended-range.
32-LQFP package and I/O allocation
Housed in a 32-lead LQFP (7x7 mm body, 0.8 mm pitch), the STM32L011K4T6 provides 26 general-purpose I/O lines. Surface-mount assembly per JEDEC MSL level (typically MSL 3 for LQFP) — bake prior to reflow if the floor life has been exceeded. The 7x7 mm footprint is compatible with standard QFP land patterns.
On-chip peripherals and connectivity
Integrated peripherals include a 10-channel 12-bit ADC, brown-out detect/reset, power-on reset (POR), PWM timers, a watchdog timer (WDT), and a DMA controller. The ADC provides 12-bit resolution across 10 multiplexed channels, sufficient for reading multiple analog sensors without an external ADC. Serial connectivity covers I²C, SPI, UART/USART, and IrDA. The UART supports full-duplex asynchronous communication; the I²C bus operates in standard and fast modes. No USB, CAN, or Ethernet interface is present — this MCU targets simple serial-bus sensor networks, not high-throughput fieldbuses. An internal oscillator eliminates the need for an external crystal in many applications, though an external clock source can be used when tighter timing accuracy is required.
