170 MHz Cortex-M4F with hardware FPU — the control-loop workhorse
The STM32G431C6T6: The core runs at 170 MHz and includes DSP instructions, which means a motor-field-oriented-control loop or a digital-power PFC algorithm can stay inside the MCU without an external co-processor or FPGA. The 32 KB on-chip Flash (32K x 8) and 32K x 8 SRAM set the firmware budget for a cost-optimized entry point into the G4 family — enough for a sensorless BLDC control stack with telemetry, but tight if you are also running a full EtherCAT protocol stack on the same core.

With 38 general-purpose I/O in a 48-LQFP (7x7 mm) package, the STM32G431C6T6 leaves room for a motor-drive interface (six PWM channels, three-phase current-sense ADC triggers) plus a CANbus or UART debug link without running out of pins. The integrated data converters — 17-channel 12-bit ADC and 4-channel 12-bit DAC — let you sample three shunt resistors and output an analog setpoint or a speed-reference voltage without external converter ICs. The brown-out detect, POR, and watchdog peripherals are on-die, reducing the supervisory BOM.
The base product number is STM32G431, which shares the same die and peripheral set across Flash-density variants — a pin-compatible upgrade path to larger Flash if the firmware outgrows the 32 KB budget.
