The STM32F405RGT7TR is an STM32F4-series ARM Cortex-M4 MCU running at 168 MHz, with 1 MB of Flash and 192K x 8 of SRAM. The 51 I/O in a 64-LQFP package gives you room for a parallel LCD interface alongside the sensor and actuator channels.
168 MHz and the flash wait-state trade-off
168 MHz is the maximum core clock, but you won't run it there without adjusting the Flash latency. At 168 MHz the part needs at least one wait state on the internal Flash to avoid a hard fault on the first branch. The 1 MB Flash is organised as 1M x 8 — enough for a full USB stack, a CANopen node, and a FreeRTOS image with room left for OTA staging. The 192K x 8 SRAM is split across multiple blocks; the 64 KB CCM (core-coupled memory) runs at full speed without wait states, which is where you put the time-critical interrupt vectors and the audio buffer.
The ROHS3 compliance is current, so no conflict with EU or UKCA regulatory updates.
Package and pin compatibility note
The STM32F405RGT7TR comes in a 64-LQFP (10x10 mm) package with a 0.5 mm pitch. The 64-LQFP footprint is common across the STM32F405 value line, so a layout done for the RGT6 accepts this part without a board spin.
