72 MHz Cortex-M4 with FPU — the control-loop workhorse
It belongs to the STM32F3 series and is built for real-time control applications that benefit from DSP instructions and a hardware FPU — digital power supplies, motor drives, and industrial inverters where a few microseconds of loop time matter. Program memory is 64 KB of Flash, with 12 KB SRAM for data and stack. The 12 KB SRAM (organized as 12K x 8) is tight for heavy buffering, but sufficient for single-axis field-oriented control or a single-phase PFC algorithm. The 37 I/O lines in the 48-LQFP package leave room for sensor interfaces, gate-drive signals, and a display or keypad. On-chip analog peripherals include a 15-channel 12-bit ADC and a 3-channel 12-bit DAC, reducing the need for external converters in mixed-signal control loops.
ROHS3 compliance is confirmed, covering EU and global regulatory requirements.
