The STM32F303CCT6TR: The core runs at 72 MHz and includes a single-cycle DSP extension and a floating-point unit (FPU), which offloads PI-loop calculations and FFT-based vibration analysis from software overhead. On-chip memory pairs 256 KB of Flash with 40 KB of SRAM — enough for a field-oriented-control (FOC) firmware image plus a few kilobytes of real-time data buffers.
The data-converter block integrates a 15-channel, 12-bit successive-approximation ADC and two 12-bit DACs. For a three-phase motor drive, the ADC channel count covers all three phase-current sense resistors plus the DC-link voltage and a thermistor input, without needing an external multiplexer. The DACs can generate analog setpoints or offset trim voltages for the external op-amp front end.
For a production BOM, the active status removes the urgency to qualify a second source or stockpile ahead of a phase-out.
