100-LQFP package — rework and layout notes
The 100-LQFP (14x14 mm) package has a 0.5 mm pitch. It is a QFP, so it is reworkable with hot air if you have a fine nozzle and steady hands — will it survive the hot air? Yes, but pre-bake the part if the tray has been open past MSL floor life. The exposed pad on this package is a thermal and electrical ground connection; make sure your PCB footprint includes a via-stitched thermal pad under the package to pull heat into the inner ground plane.
Supply range and power-on behaviour
The supply range is 2.0 V to 3.6 V, which covers both 3.3 V and 2.5 V logic rails. The internal POR (Power-On Reset) and voltage detect peripherals mean you can skip an external supervisor in many designs. The internal oscillator is available, but for USB operation you will want an external crystal — the internal RC does not meet the USB clock tolerance over temperature.
