Industrial temperature grade — what it buys you
The 105°C ceiling matters for designs that sit near a motor drive, inside a sealed outdoor enclosure, or under a vehicle hood where ambient heat plus self-heating pushes junction temperature above 85°C.
The STM32F1 series has been in production for over a decade and has a broad installed base, so second-source availability through independent distribution is also well established.
Package and footprint — 100-LQFP, hand-solderable
No BGA rework equipment needed. The 80 I/O lines are distributed around all four sides, which simplifies PCB routing compared to a BGA with hidden balls.
