Core architecture and memory — what fits where
It packs 256 KB of Flash and 48 KB of SRAM — enough for moderate control firmware, a USB stack, and a CANopen node without external memory. The Cortex-M3 gives you hardware divide and single-cycle multiply, plus the Thumb-2 instruction set that keeps code density tighter than a pure ARM32 core.
Peripheral set — CANbus, analog, and I/O count
CANbus connectivity is built in, alongside I²C, SPI, UART/USART, USB, and IrDA — so this part handles a mixed industrial bus topology without glue logic. The 80 GPIOs give you headroom for parallel displays, keypads, or sensor arrays. On the analog side there are sixteen 12-bit ADC channels and two 12-bit DAC channels, which covers multi-channel data acquisition and closed-loop control without an external converter.
Package and temperature grade — board-level fit
Housed in a 100-ball LFBGA measuring 10x10 mm, this is a compact BGA — expect fine-pitch routing and a controlled reflow profile. Supply voltage spans 2V to 3.6V, so it runs comfortably on a 3.3V rail or a single Li-ion cell with a regulator.
