It is the entry-level density option in the STM32F1 series, housed in a hand-solderable 48-LQFP package.
Memory sizing — 32 KB Flash / 10 KB SRAM
The 32 KB Flash (32K x 8) and 10 KB SRAM (10K x 8) define the firmware budget. This is the smallest Flash option in the STM32F103 family; designs needing more code space typically step up to the 64 KB or 128 KB variants. The 10 KB SRAM supports moderate data buffers and stack depth for control loops and communication stacks.
For new designs, ST recommends moving to a current STM32F1 or STM32G0 series device.
48-LQFP — hand-solderable footprint
No BGA underfill or X-ray inspection needed — a practical choice for prototype runs and rework in a lab or repair bench setting.
