24 MHz ARM Cortex-M3 with 384 KB Flash — the value-line workhorse
The STM32F100ZDT6BTR: ARM Cortex-M3 32-bit MCU with 384 KB Flash, 32K x 8 RAM, and 112 I/O in a 144-LQFP. Peripherals include DMA, PWM, temp sensor, 16-channel 12-bit ADC, and 2-channel 12-bit DAC.
144-LQFP — board area and routing
The 144-LQFP package (20x20 mm body) gives you 112 usable I/O, which is a lot of GPIO for a 24 MHz part. That many signals demand a multilayer board — a two-layer design will struggle with fanout.
Runs from 2.0 V to 3.6 V, so it works in both 3.3 V and 2.5 V systems without a separate regulator.
ST lists the STM32F100ZDT6BTR as Active. The base product number is STM32F100, so PCNs and errata apply across that whole sub-family.
