48 MHz and the memory budget — what fits
At 48 MHz the Cortex-M0 executes most instructions in a single cycle, so the 16 KB Flash can hold a modest application — a bootloader plus a main loop for sensor polling, UART command parsing, and PWM generation. The 4 KB SRAM leaves room for a couple of 1 KB buffers and a small state machine. If your firmware needs a TCP/IP stack, a USB stack, or a large lookup table, this part will feel tight; that is the trade-off for the small package and low pin count.
